RoleTael Enters Alpha 3 Release

Developers "Mole" and "Tema" start on next Alpha Release

(ProperTidyCo) - RoleTael, a passion project between two roleplay site owners who wanted to create a bespoke platform different from existing offerings, has announced its latest Alpha 3 update. This update, released on October 30, 2022, brought significant changes both internally and externally.

RoleTael has been in active development since 2018 and has seen weekly internal pushes on Git Channels. The site's first alpha went live on January 7, 2021, with the second alpha following closely after on April 25, 2021.

The Alpha 3 update brings several new features, such as the introduction of clubs, which allows for the association between roleplays. Currently in its basic form, the feature enables the management of the roleplays that are part of a club, and these roleplays are listed on the club's dashboard. The update also includes story groups, which enable the grouping of stories for things like episodes and seasons.

Another significant feature is public access, which allows logged-out users to view roleplays and characters. They will also display cards in certain applications that support them, such as Discord. While privacy settings for characters and profiles are yet to come in future releases, the update allows for the adjustment of cover images for profile views.

The messaging system has also been upgraded to enable messaging of other users on RoleTael. Moreover, uploaded images are now logged in a central area, which will allow for a specialised image moderation tool in future releases.

RoleTael is constantly using the latest in .Net Core and C# to improve its code and enhance performance and security. This project aims to address the limitations of the current roleplay platforms by creating a modern, secure, and feature-rich site that caters to the needs of its users.

RoleTael's creators were inspired to create the platform due to the increasing difficulty in customizing and modifying existing software, such as Invision Power Suite (IPS), to meet the site's needs. The growing costs of customization and the departure of good third-party developers from IPS led to the creation of RoleTael, which has been gaining popularity among the roleplay community.

The Alpha 3 update showcases the site's continued commitment to addressing the limitations of existing roleplay platforms, and it is expected that future releases will bring even more exciting features and functionality to RoleTael.

But apparently, development hasn't stopped there. Despite other projects being started, the development of RoleTael Alpha 4 is already well underway. One of the key features that the Alpha 4 update will bring is the ability for users to create and join groups based on their interests or roleplaying preferences. This will make it easier for people to find others who share their interests and create more immersive and engaging roleplaying experiences.

In addition, the update will also include a revamped chat system that will allow for more seamless communication between players. This will include the ability to send images and other media directly within the chat, as well as improved moderation tools to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all users.

Overall, the Alpha 4 update is set to bring a host of exciting new features and improvements to the roleplaying community. While the initial release will focus on basic systems, the team behind the project is committed to continuing development and adding more features in the future. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
